Speaker Quinn of the NYC Council
Refuses To Support A Foie Gras Ban!
Speaker Christine C. Quinn of the New York City Council recently sent
a form letter to Farm Sanctuary and other concerned citizens stating that
she does not support efforts to ban
the sale of foie gras in New York City.
Before legislation has even been introduced to the City Council, Speaker Quinn is already catering to the restaurant and food industries who falsely claim that banning foie gras would adversely affect their profits. Numerous polls indicate that the overwhelming majority of New Yorkers support a ban on this supposed "delicacy", which is produced by cruelly force-feeding confined ducks and geese for their grossly expanded fatty livers.

Contact Speaker Quinn and politely let her know that as a New York City resident you are very disappointed that she has already made up her mind to not support this important humane issue. Tell her that you strongly support an end to the cruel force feeding of ducks and geese to make foie gras, and would like her to support efforts to ban foie gras in NYC instead of catering to the foie gras industry and their promoters.
