Our stunning Orland shelter offers panoramic views of the northern California landscape during the Celebration for the Turkeys. Farm Sanctuary guests will have the opportunity to visit each barn and meet the rescued cows, pigs, chickens, and other farm animals who call it home. The gift store will be open for those interested in discovering a new cookbook, finding some Farm Sanctuary gear, or snacking on a delicious vegan treat. At the highlight of the event, the Feeding of the Turkeys ceremony, human guests will be able to meet the event’s guests of honor — the famous turkeys themselves. Survivors of the farming industry’s abuse and neglect, these remarkable individuals now make the most of every day — and share their vivacity, curiosity, and charisma with all who meet them. Help us celebrate these amazing animals this Thanksgiving! The Feeding the Turkeys ceremony is a beloved tradition at Farm Sanctuary, and we hope you’ll make it a part of your Thanksgiving traditions, too.
After time on the shelter, guests will enjoy a cocktail hour and presentations from Farm Sanctuary’s President and Co-Founder, Gene Baur and Farm Sanctuary’s National Shelter Director, Susie Coston.
Registration is $40 and includes admission to the event, presentations from Farm Sanctuary speakers, and a cocktail hour complete with wine, beer and gourmet vegan appetizers. Please note, the event format has changed and we will not be serving a full dinner this year.
