Plant-Powered 5K Run/Walk
Celebrate the power of plant-based foods with a morning 5K!
People everywhere are harnessing the energy of a plant-based diet to achieve greater health and fitness. On Sunday morning of the 2014 New York Country Hoe Down, join well-known vegan runners Scott Jurek and Gene Baur; for a fun, non-competitive 5K run/walk.
Gene Baur, Farm Sanctuary’s president and co-founder, marathoner, and iron man
Scott Jurek, ultrarunner and author of Eat and Run
Runners and walkers will gather at the Visitor Barn before breakfast on Sunday morning before departing on a winding course through the lush Sugar Hill State Forest, ending with a dash through the sanctuary grounds. Greet rescued pigs, cows, chickens, and other Farm Sanctuary friends as you head toward the finish line.
Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in! The Plant-Powered 5K run/walk is only open to registered Hoe Down guests. In order to participate, register today.
