California Country Hoe Down
May 1 & 2, 2010 ● California Shelter ● Orland, CA
Camping Information
(Saturday night only)
Thank you for choosing to spend the night under the stars at Farm Sanctuary! Camping with other guests is a good way to connect with like-minded people.
If you plan to camp at the sanctuary, you will be responsible for bringing your own equipment, including tents, bedding and flashlights. Our gift shop is stocked with a modest amount of food and the People Barn restrooms will be open 24 hours a day. Please be aware that, even in May, nighttime temperatures can be cold, so come prepared with appropriate clothing and bedding. Also be advised that the noise from the Saturday night Country Hoe Down dance may extend past the time listed on the event program. If you expect that noise will be a problem for you, please prepare in advance and bring any materials, such as ear plugs, that you think you may need to minimize the disturbance.
Upon arriving at Farm Sanctuary, signs will direct you to the campsite. No guests are permitted outside designated camping and recreation areas between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. each day of the event. For your safety, and that of our animal residents, we ask that you please respect these restrictions, as well as the general shelter rules posted near the main gate. We hope to provide you with plenty of opportunities throughout the weekend to experience our California Shelter and spend quality time with the rescued animals.
Fire and Smoking
Due to the high risk of fire, candles, lanterns, camp stoves, camp fires, or any incendiary devices are not permitted on Farm Sanctuary property. Smoking is only permitted in your personal vehicle parked in a gravel parking lot. Thank you.
Alcohol Policy
Farm Sanctuary permits the lawful consumption of alcohol in the People Barn and designated camping areas. For the safety of all guests and animal residents, alcohol is not allowed in or around any of the barns or animal pastures at any time.
Vegan Policy
Out of respect for our rescued farm animal residents, as well as the mission of our organization, we ask that you refrain from consuming any animal products while visiting Farm Sanctuary. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Shower Availability
Regrettably, our facilities do not include showers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the understanding of our guests.
We hope this information will help maximize your enjoyment of your weekend with us. Please don't hesitate to contact us at 607-583-2225 ext. 221 with any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you at our California Shelter!
