Melissa Rivers

Melissa Rivers has been a life long animal lover, advocate and rescuer. She has a rescued Border Collie, Mike, whom she considers her canine son. Melissa has supported animal protection efforts for many years, hosting events and lobbying for humane reforms. In 2004, Melissa travelled to Sacramento to lobby in support of SB 1520 and was instrumental in the successful passage of this bill to ban the production and sale of foie gras in the state of California. Through these efforts, and her involvement with Farm Sanctuary, Melissa has saved countless farm animals from suffering and is actively working to create a more humane world for all.
