Program Coordinator (Acton, CA)
Responsibilities & Duties:
Internship Program:
• Oversee Acton, CA intern program including:
- Conducting monthly orientations
- Updating intern materials on yearly basis
- Maintenance and upkeep of intern house
- Mediating intern disputes and responding to needs/concerns of interns
- Conducting or arranging weekly intern presentations
- Preparing lunch weekly for interns
- Holding weekly house meetings
- Weekly grocery shopping trips
- Supervising end of month housecleaning and ensuring cleanliness of houses on ongoing basis
- Recording intern information for Farm Sanctuary database
- Conduct exit interviews with departing interns
Volunteer Program
• Oversee monthly Acton volunteer work parties including:
- Reviewing applications and securing volunteers
- Holding monthly orientations
- Overseeing volunteers day of the work party
- Recording volunteer information in Farm Sanctuary database
Visitor Program
• Assist with Visitor Program as needed, including
- Conducting shelter tours
- Staffing shelter gift shop
- Maintaining facilities
Administration
- Provide administrative support at the Acton location
- Weekly shelter errand trips
- Monthly bank trips
- Work with national office and local vendors to provide technical support for all IT systems in Acton
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain vendor and local services files
- Shelter administrative projects as assigned
- Assist with HR functions including staff meetings, staff lunches and safety programs
Misc.
- Assist with shelter events
- Additional projects TBD
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal protection movement and vegan issues
- Detail oriented
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking and writing
- Experience working with volunteers
- Resourcefulness and ability to work independently
- Previous clerical work experience required
- Strong computer skills, with help desk/tech support experience a plus
- To represent organizational mission in member relations, candidate must be vegetarian/vegan and aspiring to vegan by the time of accepting this position.
- Must have flexible schedule and be able to deal with intern emergencies
Job Specifics
- Full-time
- Position requires regular Sunday hours and occasional Saturday hours
