Walk for Farm Animals Local Coordinator – Los Angeles

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate Walk for Farm Animals at local level
  • Manage Walk planning committee
  • Maintain Facebook page and Twitter account for local event
  • Assist national staff with event permit applications and other necessary paperwork
  • Solicit in-kind donations for the Walk
  • Coordinate entertainment and speakers for the event
  • Handle event day logistics
  • Promote event within community
  • Other Walk-related duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to be resourceful and think on your feet
  • Ability to maintain schedules and meet deadlines
  • Experience with event planning
  • Commitment to Farm Sanctuary’s goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of animals rights and vegetarian issues

Job Specifications:

  • Part-time, temporary position; 5-15 hours per week
  • Position will start April 6, 2015
  • $12.25 per hour, up to 180 hours total through the Walk season
  • To be based from home office in Los Angeles metro area
  • Employee will need to provide own equipment (computer with internet access, phone)
