Washington DC Campaigns Intern

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Legislative
    • Research
    • Hill drops
    • Calls and communications to federal staff
    • Assisting in tracking certain state legislative issues
    • Lobbying in VA, MD, DC
  • Outreach
    • Literature outreach and lit drops
    • Drafting alerts
    • Representing Farm Sanctuary at tabling events
  • Campaigns
    • Outreach to restaurants on no veal and no foie gras campaigns
    • Research on various campaigns
    • Possible ballot campaign assistance
Qualifications
  • Good communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Previous computer experience
  • Previous work experience
  • Previous experience in vegetarian and/or animal rights advocacy
Specifications:
  • Volunteer commitment of 20-40 hours per week
  • One to three month commitment required
  • Will work largely from home, with occasional visits to the Campaigns Director's home office
