Animal Care Project Intern
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Animal feeding and watering
- Barn and habitat cleaning and enrichment
- Shelter cleaning projects
- Assisting with animal health checks
- Animal monitoring for special needs animals
Qualifications:
- Good
animal behavior observation skills
- Ability
to work in harsh/all weather conditions
- Ability
to perform strenuous physical labor and lifting
- Must
be able to follow detailed instructions and meet animal care schedules
- Ability
to work well with variety of people
- Team
player
- Very
reliable and dependable
- Commitment
to Farm Sanctuary's animal care policies and standards
- Commitment
to Farm Sanctuary's organizational programs and goals
Specifications:
- Volunteer
commitment of 40 hours per week
- Weekends
and holidays may be required
- Shelter
department interns are assigned evening shelter security shifts,
maximum of 3 per week
- Two
to three month commitment required
- Shared
housing available on sanctuary premises
