New York Education & Advocacy Department Intern
Responsibilities & Duties:

• Staffing visitor center and gift store
• Giving guided tours of the shelter
• Maintaining visitor center facilities
• Preparing breakfast for cabin guests
• Assisting with Farm Sanctuary events
• Drafting documents to support advocacy efforts
• Internet research projects
• Phone call and correspondence projects
• Local outreach projects

Qualifications:

• Committment to veganism
• Knowledge about farm animal issues
• Knowledge about vegetarianism and veganism
• Good communication and outreach skills
• Strong writing ability
• Hard working and dependable
• Able to work well independently

Specifications:

• Volunteer commitment of 40 hours per week
• Two to three month commitment required
• Available year round
• Responsibilities will vary depending on time of year – from May to October there are more visitor center responsibilites
• Weekend and holiday hours required
• Shared housing available on sanctuary premises
