Shelter Farm Assistant

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Cleaning large animal and small animal shelter housing barns. Barn cleaners on assigned daily cleaning responsibilities for a full, 8 hour daily work shift day. Cleaning procedures include:
    • Raking out all bedding straw in barns
    • Scrubbing perches, nestboxes, feed & water pallets
    • Scrubbing walls & gates
    • Cobweb dusting barns
    • Cleaning hospital barn walls and flooring

Qualifications:

  • Reliable and dependable
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to perform strenuous physical labor and lifting
  • Ability to complete all barn cleaning schedules as assigned
  • Team player; able to work well with a variety of people
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Previous farm or work experience at animal care facility helpful
  • Farm equipment knowledge & ability to drive tractors helpful

Job Specifications:

  • Full-time and part time position available
  • Weekends and holiday hours may be required
  • Salary range $16-19,000 based on experience and qualifications
  • Competitive benefits package with full time position
