Elk: Due to a ranch foreclosure, many animals are in need of homes. There are eight sheep (older ewes) and 30 goats (10 male and 20 female). There are also three horses: an Arab mare over the age of 30, a 7-year-old Russian Orlov/Arab cross gelding, and a 12-year-old Mustang cross. If you can adopt any of these animals, please contact Angie.

Healsburg: Ten lovely sheep need a forever home. These four altered males and six females, one with slight special needs, are a rare breed of longwool sheep. Some are gray, some are white and one is black. These sweet sheep are like family to their caregiver, but she cannot afford to keep them. They need a good home with protection from predators, shelter and safe fencing, and they are not to be used for breeding. If you can provide such a home, please contact Carole. She has a trailer and can help with transport to their new home.

Pennsauken: Four sheep are urgently in need of a temporary or permanent new home. Of these animals, there are two Jacob sheep (one ram and one ewe) who are two years old, a Suffolk ewe who is three years old and a 6-month-old Jacob/Suffolk wether. Their current caregivers are boarding the sheep at a farm that is now threatening to send the ram to slaughter if they do not find another place for him. They would like to keep all of the sheep together, but minimally must place their ram in a safe home until they find a new place for all of the animals to live. If you can provide these sheep, or the ram, with a safe temporary or permanent home, please contact Samuel right away.

Spencerport: Three sheep are in need of a good home. The 5- or 6-year-old male and female and their 4- or 5-year-old male son, were rescued from a neglectful vendor. They are all very loyal and affectionate and follow their current caretaker around as he does chores, but due to health issues, he is no longer able to care for them. If you can welcome any or all of these animals into your home, please call Dick. The best times to reach him are 3:30 – 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. – noon.
