Fiona and Jack

In the winter of 2009, we gave refuge to two very special babies at our New York Shelter. Separated from his mother immediately after birth and left for dead at a stockyard in Pennsylvania, Jack almost didn’t make it out alive. Saved at the last hour by our humane officer, the three-pound newborn goat was hospitalized for 22 days while he fought pneumonia and infection and struggled to gain weight. Rescued from a factory farm where she had already been torn from her mother and cruelly tail docked, Fiona piglet was underweight and very sickly. Now, Jack and Fiona thrive under the care of doting caregivers at Farm Sanctuary. In this adorable video, you can see them enjoying their very first spring outdoors.
