Remembering Hildy

Hildy lived to the old age of nine at our New York Shelter, passing away in January 2012. Hildy was a steadfast friend to fellow turkeys Rhonda, Feather, and Kima, and, with her sweet disposition, she opened many visitors’ hearts to the sensitivity and intelligence that turkeys possess. Last fall, we had an opportunity to film a short video with Hildy and Susie Coston, our national shelter director. It is a fitting tribute to Hildy’s memory and farm animals everywhere, who are all deserving of our respect and compassion.
