Tour Season Begins at the NY Shelter
Visit the New York Shelter, located in Watkins Glen, to come face to face with hundreds of rescued farm animals and hear their inspiring stories of survival. The shelter has its own “People Barn” complete with educational displays and a cruelty-free gift shop. If you are looking to extend your stay, you can book one of our Bed & Breakfast Cabins. CA Country Hoe Down (CA Shelter)
Join us at the California Shelter for a weekend of good old-fashioned fun with hayrides, and sanctuary time with the animal residents. Attendees will also learn about important animal protection issues from guest speakers and enjoy delicious vegan food. Tour Season Begins at the CA Shelter
Visit the California Shelter, located in Orland, to come face to face with hundreds of rescued farm animals and hear their inspiring stories of survival. The shelter has its own “People Barn” complete with educational displays and a cruelty-free gift shop. Guided tours are offered every Saturday through the end of October. Make your visit extra-special by staying in the spacious Country Cabin overlooking our beautiful 300-acre sanctuary.

Memorial Day Open Houses (CA & NY Shelters)
Spend Memorial Day with the rescued animals of Farm Sanctuary. Our shelters in New York and California will offer free guided tours, so come down and meet our friendly and happy farm animal ambassadors.

Pignics - An Independence Day for Farm Animals (CA & NY Shelters)
Celebrate the freedom of the rescued animals who call Farm Sanctuary home by visiting one of our shelters. We’ll be offering free tours of the sanctuaries and vegan food samples.

NY Country Hoe Down (NY Shelter)
Don’t miss the annual shindig at our New York Shelter for a weekend of great vegan food, inspiring speakers, a lively barn dance, and lots of time on the sanctuary with rescued farm animals.

NY Farm Animal Care Conference
Learn how to start and operate your very own shelter for farm animals at this intensive weekend workshop. Farm Sanctuary staff will share more than 20 years of experience operating the country’s largest farm animal shelter, providing in depth information on fundraising, program administration, animal care, and day-to-day operation of a nonprofit sanctuary. Walk for Farm Animals (nationwide)
Please join us as we hit the streets to raise awareness and send a strong message of compassion and hope for farm animals. We’ve been walking for more than 20 years and the event just keeps growing. Celebrations for the Turkeys (CA & NY Shelters)
Give the turkeys at Farm Sanctuary something to be thankful for by joining them at this year’s Celebration FOR the Turkeys, at which our feathered friends are the guests of honor. Attendees will enjoy speaker presentations, mouth-watering vegan meals, and our very special Feeding of the Turkeys Ceremony, when we honor the birds with their own feast of stuffed squash, pumpkin pie and cranberries.
