Country Cabin

Make your stay extra-special by staying in our cozy Country Cabin. May through October, our Cabin is available for you and your family (including four-legged friends)!

Wake up to crowing roosters on our beautiful farm nestled in the eastern foothills of the coastal mountain range near Orland, California. As our guest, you will stay in our spacious country cabin overlooking our 300-acre sanctuary.

During your stay, you are welcome to browse our visitor center, pitch in with farm chores, or just enjoy the companionship of our farm animal friends. We are just a short drive from beautiful nature areas, bike trails and antique shops, as well as Black Butte Lake Park, with hiking trails, swimming and picnic areas.

Farm Sanctuary's Country Cabin is open May 1st through October 31st. Early reservations are always recommended. Reservations are required and payable in advance by Visa or MasterCard.

Check-In/Check-Out
Guests may check in anytime after 2 p.m. On Saturdays, Sanctuary staff are available for check-in/check-out from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. For all other times, arrangements will be made for guests in advance. Check-out time is 11 a.m.

Cabin Information
The Country Cabin features one queen bed, sofa, kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and handicapped-accessible bathroom facilities. Your cabin, the farm and the Visitor Center are smoke-free environments. Smoking is permitted only on the porch of your cabin.

Farm Tour Information
All Country Cabin guests receive a complimentary farm tour. Your tour will be held at 10 a.m. the day after you arrive. Guests staying on Saturdays are also welcome to join a tour later in the day. These tours are held every hour, on the hour, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitor Center
Guests are welcome to browse the Visitor Center to learn about farm animal issues and what you can do to help stop "food animal" abuses. The Sanctuary offers an excellent selection of books on vegan cooking and animal rights, cruelty-free gifts, and vegan snacks. The visitor center and gift shop is open to cabin guests from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to noon the rest of the week.

Companion Animals
Companion animals are always welcome, but for their safety, as well as that of the Sanctuary residents, we must request your companion be on a leash at all times. Companion animals are not permitted near animal housing barns at any time. Please let us know about your companion animals when you make your reservation.

Members receive a discount of $10 per night. Reservations of four or more consecutive nights will receive a 5% discount on the entire stay.

Children ages 3 and under are free.

Vegan Policy
Out of respect for the rescued animals at Farm Sanctuary we do require all food on the premises to be vegan (no meat, dairy, eggs or animal by-products). If you need further information about a vegan diet, please let us know. We would be happy to assist you.

Reservations & Cancellations
Because of our unique location and limited availability, we have set policies to conform to these special circumstances. Reservations must be paid in full to confirm your cabin. If cancellation occurs at least 30 days prior to reservation, a 50 percent refund will be issued; otherwise, no refund will be given. Cancellations are also non-transferable. When a cancellation occurs, the payment will be used as a general donation for our programs, and the gift is tax-deductible.

Reservations will be taken at our California office. Reservations are not confirmed until you have spoken with a Farm Sanctuary representative at the Orland office.
