Southern California Pignic

Celebrate Freedom at Farm Sanctuary!

Come soak up the California sun at our annual Pignic at the Acton shelter! What exactly is a “Pignic?” It’s a fun-filled vegan picnic where guests can sample vegan alternatives to traditional picnic foods and spend time connecting with rescued pigs and other animals who are free to live their lives at our Southern California Shelter.

The Pignic is a perfect way to introduce your friends and family to Farm Sanctuary. This event is open to all compassionate or curious individuals—vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike—to come together and celebrate their love of animals.

This event is $30 for anyone 13 or older, $15 for children 4-12 and free for children 3 and under.

Jessica Due serves as Shelter Manager of Farm Sanctuary in Acton, CA. Jessica is in her fourth year as a Farm Sanctuary employee, though she was a volunteer for several years prior to officially joining the animal caregiving team. A former Director of Animal Care with another farm animal sanctuary, lifelong vegetarian, and nearly decade-strong vegan, Jessica has always tried to be on the right side of history and fight against injustices to all species. In her free time, she enjoys gardening (using permaculture techniques), hiking, camping, painting, and playing music.

Volunteers

Farm Sanctuary, a source of education and inspiration for thousands of individuals each year, relies on the dedication of volunteers. We are currently seeking volunteers for our Pignic and we would love to have your help!

Volunteers are needed to assist with all aspects of the event: setup, parking, registration, food service, gate assistance, staffing barns, cleanup, and more.

For more information or to sign up to volunteer, please contact Aliana Turkel
