California Summer Pignic
Sunday, June 25
This is event is now sold out.
Here in Southern California, summer is a time for long days in the sun, beaches, BBQs and picnics with your family and friends. Unfortunately, these activities can be less than enjoyable activities for folks who love animals and don’t want to eat them. Here at Farm Sanctuary, we see animals as our friends, not our food. Our version of a picnic, which we like to call a PIGnic, is a time to celebrate pigs, and other farm animals by giving them affection and love, and leaving them off our plates.
Farm Sanctuary invites you to kick off your summer with compassion by joining us for our annual Summer Pignic! This is a wonderful opportunity to try vegan alternatives to your favorite picnic foods and connect with farm animals in new ways. As we honor the animals who are now free to enjoy their lives at sanctuary, we hope our guests will also experience the joy that can come from putting compassion first.
Registered guests will enjoy a fun-filled day in the sun, celebrating pigs and other farm animals with activities including:
- A vegan picnic lunch
- Farm animal crafts and activities in the courtyard
- Get your caricature drawn by Simpson’s character designer, Dale Hendrickson
- Get your face painted like your favorite farm animal
- Enjoy a variety of farm animal themed kids crafts
- sanctuary time with the pigs, cows, chickens, and other animals who call Farm Sanctuary home;
- browsing our gift shop, which offers books, apparel, and other souvenirs.
This is a great way to introduce your friends and family to Farm Sanctuary and the animals who serve as ambassadors for their species. This event is intended for all compassionate individuals—vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike—to come together and celebrate the start of summer by showing love to animals. We hope to see you on Sunday, June 25 as we kick of the summer with caring individuals like you who bring love and life to farm animals everywhere.
This event is $30 for anyone 13 or older, $15 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and under.
