Pignic at Farm Sanctuary

Saturday, July 1st 12:00 p.m. ET
Watkins Glen, NY

This event is currently sold out. Please email [email protected] to be added to the waiting list.

There is no better way to celebrate Independence Day than at Farm Sanctuary — where all living beings can exist freely and peacefully.

Our New York sanctuary is home to more than 500 rescued pigs, cows, sheep, and others, who found freedom after surviving exploitation and cruelty in our modern food system. Because of their inspiring journeys, our 275-acre haven is a fitting place to ring in America’s birthday.

Meet us in the pasture for a festive celebration honoring our collective freedom. We last hosted this beloved event in 2019 and are beyond excited to bring it back! It’s kind of a “pig” deal.

Spread out a blanket, and bask in the summertime sunshine as you connect with farm animals. Pignic guests will enjoy a vegan picnic, live music, open sanctuary time, face painting, kids’ activities, and more!

Don’t miss out — it’ll be a squeal!

Are you coming for the weekend? Complete your visit with a guided, Sunday morning hike for farm animals! Offered at varying levels (beginner and advanced), it’s a beautiful way to close out the holiday weekend.

  • Advanced Hike: Meet at the visitor barn at 8:30 a.m., depart at 9:00 a.m., and return around 11:00 a.m. (Duration: 2 hours)
  • Beginner Hike: Meet at the visitor barn at 9:30 a.m., depart at 10:00 a.m., and return around 11:00 a.m. (Duration: 1 hour)
