Walk for Farm Animals Volunteer Coordinator

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Coordinate Walk for Farm Animals at the local level
  • Manage Walk planning committee
  • Assist staff with Facebook page for local event
  • Assist national staff with event permit applications and other necessary paperwork
  • Recruit and manage day-of volunteers
  • Solicit donations from local businesses for the Walk
  • Coordinate entertainment and speakers for the event
  • Handle day-of logistics
  • Promote event within the community


  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to be resourceful and think on your feet
  • Ability to maintain schedules and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to Farm Sanctuary’s goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of animals rights and vegetarian issues
  • Experience with event planning a plus


  • Minimum five-month volunteer period required
  • Must commit to volunteer up to five hours per week
  • Must live within the metro area of one of the targeted Walk sites
  • Will volunteer from home; must provide own computer and phone equipment


  • Work with like-minded and committed animal activists
  • Opportunity to gain valuable experience with event planning and fundraising
