Tiny Houses in Winter

Snowy landscape at Farm Sanctuary

Enjoy a winter getaway and the solitude of the sanctuary during the months of November and December. While rescued farm animals always outnumber human visitors at Farm Sanctuary, this is especially true during the winter months — you may find yourself as the only tour guest during your entire stay!

The Tiny Houses in Winter package includes:

  • Vegan hot cocoa & marshmallows
  • A complimentary signed copy of Farm Sanctuary President and Co-founder Gene Baur’s book Living the Farm Sanctuary Life: The Ultimate Guide to Eating Mindfully, Living Longer, and Feeling Better Every Day
  • Two-hour Sanctuary tour with exclusive behind-the-scenes experience

Cozy up with Gene’s book and a cup of hot cocoa, watch the snow fall, and take in the gorgeous winter Sanctuary views (including the pigs romping in their snowy pastures!).

“Few places in life live up to one’s expectations, but Farm Sanctuary is one such place. There aren’t a lot of places for animals to have safety and peace, and it is so rewarding to have stayed at one.”
-Melissa and Matt,

Know Before You Go

Farm Sanctuary’s Tiny Houses are open to our members from May 1 to December 31.

A member is anyone who has contributed at least $20 to Farm Sanctuary in the previous year. If you are not a member but wish to stay in our accommodations, you can become a member with a donation of $20 or more at the time of reservation. If you are unsure of your membership status, you can email [email protected]. If you make a reservation and are not yet a member, you will be charged a membership fee of $20. In addition to access to our accommodations, a Farm Sanctuary membership keeps you in the loop. Members receive a subscription to our newsletter and special alerts about farm animal legislation. They’re the first to know about urgent rescues, important petitions, opportunities to speak out for farm animals, and more. Membership contributions are critical to supporting all the work Farm Sanctuary does on behalf of farm animals.

Early reservations are always recommended. Reservations are required and payable in advance by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. We accept reservations for the current season only. It is not possible to reserve for future years until the new seasons open.

Because of our unique location and the limited number of accommodations, we must adhere to set policies with regard to cancellations. Reservations must be paid in full. If a cancellation occurs, the following refund policy will be strictly followed:

  • If a cancellation occurs 30 days or more prior to the start of the reservation, a full refund will be issued minus a $35 administrative fee.
  • If a cancellation occurs less than 30 days, but more than 7 days prior to the start of the reservation, a 50% refund will be issued.
  • Any cancellation made within 7 days of the start of the reservation is not eligible for any refund.
  • There will be no cancellations due to winter weather (please note if you are making a Tiny Houses in Winter reservation).
  • Cancellations are non-transferable.
  • In the event of a cancellation where some or all of the payment is not refundable per our policy, the payment will be used as a general donation to support all our work, and the gift will be tax-deductible.

Please note: Transferring between rooms or from cabins to Tiny Houses (or vice versa) is considered a cancellation and will be subject to the cancellation policy above.

Farm Sanctuary reserves the right to charge guests for the cost of repairing damage to its property caused by the deliberate or negligent act of guests of the tiny houses. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, Farm Sanctuary reserves the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit card provided at the time of booking, or to send an invoice for the amount of damages. Every attempt will be made to minimize the extent of those charges, and the guest will be notified immediately of the issue. Any significant damage that results in the closure of one or more Tiny House for a period of time may also include a fee comparable to lost income.
