Farm Sanctuary intern feeds apples to rescued pigs Ami and Bruce

For the rescued farm animals who live at Farm Sanctuary, snacks are enjoyed regularly, but certain times of year are extra special when it comes to favorite foods.

At our beautiful Watkins Glen, New York, sanctuary, in late summer and even as fall colors brighten the already picturesque Finger Lakes region, apples are in season and ready to delight our rescued residents!

Scroll on to see our lovable farm animal friends enjoying their apple snacks as we get excited for all that autumn has to offer (including a festive vegan feast at our Celebration for the Turkeys—learn more and join us in NY or CA this November).

A special fall celebration

Each Thanksgiving season, Farm Sanctuary opens our doors in New York and California for a compassionate Celebration for Turkeys. At this beloved holiday event, turkeys are the guests of honor—not a holiday centerpiece—and attendees enjoy a festive vegan meal, inspiring talks, time with rescued farm animals, and more.

Get your tickets for this year’s Celebration for the Turkeys in Watkins Glen, NY (November 1) or Acton, California (November 15), and you’ll also see our special Feeding of the Turkeys ceremony as the rescued birds delight in a festive meal prepared just for them.
