We are committed to transparency
We communicate with our supporters, donors, and prospective donors through campaigns conducted via direct mail, email, telephone, and other means, both to request contributions to our cause and to educate the public about farm animal issues, our rescue and care programs, our onsite and offsite educational programs, volunteer opportunities, calls to action, and more. These efforts help advance our mission to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassionate vegan living. As a result, in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidance, Farm Sanctuary allocates a portion of these expenses to fundraising and a portion to program services. As a nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal taxation, we ensure our donors’ money is spent as efficiently and effectively as possible.
