Nestled in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, the rolling green pastures of Farm Sanctuary’s 275-acre New York Sanctuary are home to more than 400 rescued farm animals.
Our 39-acre Southern California Sanctuary — home to approximately 100 rescued farm animals — is located on a beautiful hacienda ranch in Acton, just 45 minutes from Hollywood.
To cap off Farm Sanctuary’s 40th anniversary, we are hosting a can’t-miss event celebrating the release of the new book by our President & Co-founder, Gene Baur. Please join us as we commemorate this landmark year!
“Farm Sanctuary: The Story of a Movement” charts our journey from humble beginnings to a global movement, through never-before-seen photographs and personal stories.

Allie Taylor is the Director of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Animal Welfare. She is the founder and past president of Voters For Animal Rights (VFAR), New York’s leading political animal advocacy organization. She has led the passage of numerous landmark animal protection laws and budget initiatives, including NYC’s law prohibiting the sale of foie gras.
