Located at 1500 Broadway through April 30, the digital billboard will display the moving faces of rescued farm animals and our compassionate message at least 6 times per hour, 20 hours per day, in a heavily trafficked area.

‘Be Kind to Animals, Don’t Eat Them’ Billboard Reaching Millions in Times Square
A Farm Sanctuary billboard inspiring compassion for farm animals is shining in New York City’s Times Square, thanks to the support of generous donors. Amid the bright lights and Broadway marquees, our message is urging millions of people: “Be kind to animals: Don’t eat them.”
Around 200,000-250,000 pedestrians pass through Times Square on an average day, making it an ideal spot to easily reach a large audience and invite more people to see farm animals in a new light.
For 40 years, Farm Sanctuary has sought to end the abuses of factory farming and promote the benefits of plant-based living for animals, people, and the planet.
Our sanctuaries in New York and California are home to hundreds of rescued farm animals, each an ambassador for billions of animals like them. The stories of these resilient survivors help people see farm animals as individuals worthy of compassion. They are smart, social, and emotional animals—and we help others to see them for who they are, not what they can produce.

Along with our rescue efforts, education and advocacy play vital roles in our mission—from our sanctuary grounds, to classrooms, Capitol Hill, and the biggest “stages,” like Times Square. This billboard will empower millions to realize they can build a gentler world at a time when we need kindness more than ever.
