Earth Day Is a Call to Action! Volunteer to Make a Difference

Earth Day is recognized around the world as a moment to raise environmental awareness and turn that knowledge into tangible impacts for the planet we call home. By volunteering for a cause you care about, you can be part of this special day.

Since our founding in 1986, volunteers have played an integral role in our mission, helping to transform the lives of farm animals and inspiring compassionate change.

Do you want to make a difference, too? Volunteer with Farm Sanctuary as we celebrate 40 years of progress for animals, people, and the planet—while building a kinder future for all!

Apply now to volunteer at our New York or California sanctuary—or from wherever you are nationwide!

We offer a variety of opportunities for volunteers to help with on-site tasks on the farms. In honor of Earth Day, join us for some “spring cleaning” to help maintain our sanctuaries, home to hundreds of rescued farm animals.

Can’t join us in person? Apply to volunteer remotely, and become part of our nationwide community working together for a shared compassionate cause.

Looking for a way to continue defending our planet when Earth Day is over?

Each time you choose a delicious plant-based meal, you’re making a difference! By shifting your diet toward plant-rich foods and reducing your support for environmentally devastating factory farming, you’re protecting farm animals and wildlife alike, cutting greenhouse gas emissions, fighting deforestation, protecting public health, and doing so much more that lightens your footprint on our earth.
