As we continue to empower the next generations of advocates for a kinder world, we are reflecting on some of the milestones in humane education reached in the past couple of years with your support.

In honor of our 40th anniversary, join us as we celebrate these inspiring achievements.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we reached 80,000 students in just one year, connecting youth with free educational resources, including monthly webinars, downloadable curricula, opportunities to engage in our Youth Leadership Council, and much more.

In 2025, we reached 130% more teachers than in the previous year, helping more teachers than ever bring our free educational programs to their classrooms. In achieving this, we have already reached a goal we had set for 2027 through our humane education initiative, the Bold Choice Fund.

Farm Sanctuary’s humane educators offer monthly webinars during the school year. In fall 2025, 47% more students participated in these engaging virtual presentations than in the previous fall, learning grade-appropriate information about the lives of farm animals, the environmental impacts of our food system, and more. Our webinars include accompanying activities and standards-aligned educator resources for K-5 and 6-12.

For our far-reaching work in 2024, Farm Sanctuary garnered the Educator’s Choice Award for “Best Youth Humane Education Program” from the Association of Professional Humane Educators (APHE). In 2026, Mercy Mize, the new senior manager of our educational programs, was honored with an Educator’s Choice Award for “Humane Educator Rookie of the Year.” To learn more about Mercy’s story, click here.

Introduced in 2025, Teachers Helping Teachers (THT) is a new Farm Sanctuary network of K-12 teachers who help us develop high-quality, engaging, user-friendly, and standards-aligned resources, including webinars, downloadable curricula, youth leadership programs, and more. They also provide valuable input in the development of new programs and resources to support what they need and want in their classroom. Educators interested in joining should please sign up here.

Through free resources, educator and student networks, and downloadable curricula, we are fostering kindness for farm animals, teaching the benefits of plant-based living, and empowering thousands of young advocates to help build a food system rooted in compassion.
