Summer is in full swing. With it comes celebrations that honor the United States. Given the turmoil and upheaval, particularly over the past few years, families are questioning what it means to be patriotic. For some, nothing has changed. For others, observing July Fourth means calling into question many of the foundations and traditions they once held so dear. This month, Farm Sanctuary spotlights July Fourth observances in a post-2020 America and explores ways to keep animals safe and calm during fireworks displays. We’ve also partnered with Treeline Cheese for our annual Adopt a Farm Animal campaign.

You’ll enjoy plenty of lifestyle content, including dating while vegan, along with the animal stories you’ve always cherished, social justice pieces, and action items about the fight to end animal agriculture and the unjust treatment of animals on factory farms.

Farm Sanctuary stands on the principles that animals deserve to live happy lives, free from harm, commodification, and unjust imprisonment. The organization has widened its scope to include the fight for social justice in all its forms. We honor and appreciate everyone who has diligently supported us throughout our evolution. We’re equally excited to continue to raise awareness for our animal friends and the social issues affecting their human allies.
