What is the Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals?
Since 1986, Farm Sanctuary walks and endurance events have brought thousands of people together to get active for farm animals. The Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals was designed to promote the benefits of plant-based living, while educating the public on the deep emotional lives of farm animals and advocating for reform.

How can I take part in the Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals?
There are four ways to participate in the Los Angeles Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals: a 10K Timed Race, 5K Fun Run, Kids’ Run, and Walk. This event is full of high-energy, inspired runners and walkers who are powered up to support a cause they strongly believe in and have fun doing it! Even if you can’t join us in person, you can still be a part of the movement by donating.

Do I have to raise money?
While we welcome everyone’s participation in the Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals, it is first and foremost a fundraising event. We encourage participants to raise at least $100 (which entitles you to a Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals T-shirt!). We provide a lot of online tools to help you ask your friends and family for money in a fun, non-confrontational way. Even if you get 10 people to give you $10, you will have reached the $100 goal! So, no, you don’t have to raise money in order to participate, but considering how easy it is and how much your efforts will help Farm Sanctuary, we hope you will join other participants in helping to reach the fundraising goal. Check out our tips on How to Raise Money!

Do I have to be vegan to attend?

What is a team?
Teams can be made up of friends, neighbors, classmates, co-workers, or any other group! Teams benefit from shared camaraderie, and each member is often able to raise more money than they would have on their own. You will still raise money and be eligible for great Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals prizes as an individual, but the total amount you raise will also be counted toward your team’s goal. Participating in the Plant Powered Run & Walk for Farm Animals with a team can help you meet your fundraising goals and have more fun while working to raise awareness about cruelty to animals. As a group participant, your team’s fundraising goal will be set by your team leader. The team with the highest fundraising total will win a special grand prize! (Note: Only team members who have raised at least $100 will be eligible to receive the Team Grand Prize.)
