Farm Sanctuary’s shelter facilities operate at or near capacity; however, we do provide national placement assistance for hundreds of farm animals each year through our Farm Animal Adoption Network (FAAN).
If you have a farm animal that you need help finding placement for, our Farm Animal Adoption Network Facebook group is a great way to share animals in need with a wider audience. Once we post about your animal, we will handle preliminary screening for any interested adopters based on our adoption criteria (see FAQ page). If we find a possible appropriate match, we will then put the potential adopter in touch with you directly. In most cases, arranging transport to a new home will need to be coordinated directly by you and the adopter. Requests to post animals must be submitted by their legal guardian.
While we do provide a screening process for all interested adopters that we refer, you are responsible for making the final decision on placing your animal in a new home. Please ensure that your animal(s) are placed into safe, lifelong homes by vetting all adoption inquiries very carefully and personally visiting any prospective home in advance whenever possible. You can contact our placement team at any time to discuss concerns or ask questions at 607-583-2225 x223 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
