An Inspiring Evening in New York City

Gene Baur and Allie Taylor speak at event

An Inspiring Evening in New York City

Thank you to everyone who joined Gene Baur at his book launch in New York City as we celebrated Farm Sanctuary’s 40th anniversary. The event wrapped up our 40th Anniversary Celebrations while formally kicking off Gene’s national book tour.

At Project Farmhouse, a purpose-driven space in Union Square, guests were among the first to receive copies of “Farm Sanctuary: The Story of a Movement,” a visual history that tells our story like never before. We enjoyed amazing conversations and vegan fare, with a nod to Gene’s early days selling veggie dogs at Grateful Dead shows to fund our work.

Gene was joined by Allie Taylor, director of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Animal Welfare, to explore our movement’s history and what is possible in the future. Renowned artist Sue Coe, who contributed art and an essay to the book, reminded us of the magic and importance of Farm Sanctuary’s work.
