Meet the Flock: Adopt a Turkey 2026

Adopt a Turkey 2026 is here! Meet this year’s flock of adoptable turkeys below, then join thousands in embracing a compassionate holiday tradition with one act today.

For 40 years, Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt a Turkey Project has inspired people to put turkeys at the center of their Thanksgiving celebrations in a kind way: by sponsoring the care of a rescued bird.

From our first spokesturkey, Clyde, in the 1980s, to all those who have come after him as ambassadors of kindness each holiday season, the Adopt a Turkey Project has empowered people like you to take a turkey under their wing.

Today, Clyde’s legacy lives on in everyone who joins this longstanding tradition, and we hope you will be part of it in this milestone year.

Sadly, 46 million turkeys are killed for Thanksgiving in the United States each year, and the vast majority spend their short lives suffering inside industrial farms run like animal factories.

Turkeys deserve so much better, and you can stand up for them today.

By symbolically adopting a turkey who lives at Farm Sanctuary, you will not only support their daily care but also strengthen our efforts to protect billions of turkeys and other farm animals from cruelty and fight the many harms of factory farming.

Adopt for yourself or in honor of someone you’re thankful for, and, in gratitude, we’ll send you or your chosen recipient a print or digital certificate featuring a photo of your adopted turkey and their inspiring story. Inspire others to choose compassion this Thanksgiving by displaying your printed certificate on your holiday table!

Julie: The Introvert

Julie was going to be killed for Thanksgiving at four months old, but after her flockmates died, the lonely bird followed her guardian everywhere. Grieving Julie’s search for a friend inspired a change of heart that saved her life.

Julie is anxious about the world, but she’s curious and kind, too. She’s that friend who’s in your inner circle for life once she warms up. She has bonded with her caregivers and has built up enough confidence to occasionally let loose and play. Julie’s safe place is a friendship that feels like home, and she loves peaceful days with her buddy, Roberto.

Tutu: The Bestie

Tutu was born in an animal factory, an industrial farm where she was treated like a number among 46 million turkeys facing Thanksgiving slaughter. An art student saved Tutu to tell her story, but when the school wouldn’t allow a turkey, Tutu found her happily ever after at Farm Sanctuary.

Tutu has a lot to say and loves to listen, too. She’s like that friend who’s there to chat, remind you of the joy in life, or be a shoulder you can cry on. When this social butterfly’s around, whether she’s in the pool or noshing on snacks, everyone’s having fun.

Galadriel: The Dreamer

Galadriel once lived at another sanctuary, where safety and comfort were promised but not given. She was denied the proper shelter, food, and veterinary care she needed. But at Farm Sanctuary, a promise is forever, and this enthusiastic gal is not just living but thriving, as she inspires us daily with her zest for life.

Galadriel is an outdoorsy explorer. She’s that friend who makes the perfect travel companion, always up for going to fun places and learning new things. Galadriel dreams big and sees hope for adventure in every moment.

Griffin: The Lovebird

Griffin ran for his life when he was set loose in a Los Angeles shopping center and hunted for Thanksgiving. Luckily, a compassionate family saved this kindhearted bird and brought him to sanctuary rather than slaughter.

Griffin wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s that friend who has you believing in the power of love—even love at first sight. Admittedly, Griffin likes to stare at himself in the mirror, but from day one, he’s really only had eyes for Serena. Griffin walks past the lady of the flock, showing off and lighting up when she notices.

Brunnhilde: The Busy Bee

Brunnhilde was born on a farm where animals were raised as friends. When their guardian died, his wife couldn’t care for the animals alone, but she knew she could keep the promise that they’d always be safe. We helped find homes for everyone, including Brunnhilde and her turkey companions, who came to Farm Sanctuary.

Brunnhilde is lovingly known as an “assistant” around the sanctuary. She’s that friend who’s always willing to lend a helping hand. She likes to keep herself busy by following her caregivers during our daily tasks and, most importantly, making sure snacks are offered on time.

Adopt the Flock & Multiply Your Impact

Sponsor the flock of five to make the biggest impact in the lives of our rescued residents and turkeys everywhere!

Each rescued turkey at Farm Sanctuary has a unique personality. Julie is shy and finding her place in the flock, while Tutu is the social butterfly and a great listener. Griffin is a charmer who’s in love with love, while Galadriel is an explorer, always dreaming of the next adventure, and Brunnhilde likes to stay busy wherever there are snacks and a task to help with. Despite their differences, they are each a cherished member of our Farm Sanctuary family—and ambassadors for the 46 million turkeys lost to Thanksgiving each year.

Thank you for considering a special gift to protect turkeys and celebrate compassion this holiday season.
