It’s Father’s Day – a special time to pay tribute to all the dads and father figures. Patriarchal representations of strength and monetary security are “old hat,” as the complexities of modern parenthood have given way to a new breed. Fathers are our nurturers, educators, best friends, and more. 

Thankfully, many dads have found their way to a vegan lifestyle and are using the change as an opportunity to connect with their children, integrate their mind/body/spirit awareness, and inspire others. 

For all those fathers who wish to become vegan but aren’t sure if the lifestyle is for them, there is a growing list of celebrities to look to for inspiration. Joaquin Phoenix, RZA, Travis Barker, Stevie Wonder, and Russell Brand are well-known dads in the entertainment industry who refuse to eat animal products. The political world boasts names like Bill Clinton and New York City Mayor Eric Adams as famous vegans.

Perhaps the most crucial reason for dads to adopt a plant-based lifestyle is for the animals. Their lives are meaningful, and they deserve our care and attention.
